Project Manager – Response Logistics

Position Overview:We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Project Manager—response Logistics to lead and oversee multiple disaster response projects. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. This role involves coordinating logistics, managing on-site teams, and traveling as needed to ensure seamless project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Design:
- Collaborate with clients to assess needs and design tailored emergency response solutions.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for each emergency scenario.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards in all project designs.
Project Execution & Oversight:
- Coordinate the delivery, installation, and setup of temporary kitchens, dining halls, emergency cooling units, and other essential resources.
- Supervise on-site operations and manage teams to ensure efficient execution and high-quality results.
- Troubleshoot utility connections, including water, electrical, and HVAC systems, ensuring operational safety and functionality.
MEP Knowledge & Utility Problem-Solving:
- Apply basic Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) knowledge to oversee equipment installation and maintenance.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex utility issues under time-sensitive conditions.
- Collaborate with contractors and technical specialists to implement effective solutions.
Team & Resource Management:
- Led cross-functional teams, including vendors, contractors, and internal staff, to ensure project success.
- Manage resources effectively across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with timelines and objectives.
- Foster clear communication and strong collaboration among all stakeholders.
Travel & Field Operations:
- Travel to project sites to oversee implementation and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact on-site, maintaining a professional and responsive presence.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of project activities, expenses, and milestones.
- Provide regular updates and reports to leadership and clients, highlighting progress, challenges, and risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Logistics, Emergency Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of project management experience, preferably in emergency response or logistics.
- Basic understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems is required.
- Proficiency in project management tools/software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience leading diverse teams.
- Flexibility to travel extensively on short notice and work in high-pressure environments.
- Familiarity with OSHA and safety regulations is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in disaster response or other high-stakes environments.
- Technical knowledge of equipment like temporary kitchens, coolers, and other emergency facilities.
- Project Management certification (PMP, CAPM) or Emergency Management certification (CEM) is highly desirable.
