Job Summary:

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Production Cooks and Food Service Workers in response to Hurricane Relief efforts. This position requires the preparation and service of nutritious meals to those impacted by the hurricane. It will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our community during this challenging time. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, follow health and safety guidelines, and demonstrate empathy and understanding towards those affected.

Key Responsibilities:

- **Food Preparation:** Prepare and cook large quantities of food in accordance with established recipes and dietary restrictions, ensuring all meals are nutritious, safe, and palatable.

- **Service Operations:** Assist in serving meals in a timely manner to individuals and families in need at designated distribution sites, shelters, or community centers.

- **Sanitation and Cleanliness:** Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining area, adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines. This includes cleaning workstations, utensils, and cooking equipment.

- **Collaboration:** Work collaboratively with other team members, volunteers, and local organizations to streamline food distribution efforts and respond to the needs of the community effectively.

**Qualifications:**

- **Experience:** Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, and/or food service is preferred, especially in a high-volume setting.

- **Skills:**
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic cooking and food safety knowledge.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and respond positively to leadership.

- **Physical Requirements:** Must be able to stand for long periods, lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs), and perform tasks that require bending, stooping, and reaching.

- **Compassionate Attitude:** Must possess a strong sense of empathy and commitment to serving those in need during crisis situations.

**Work Environment:**
This job operates in a fast-paced kitchen and service environment, which may be physically demanding and require working under some stress due to the nature of disaster relief. Flexibility in hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required based on service needs.
